I’m in the middle of remodeling my home office/studio and needed a bookcase that would work with the desk and credenza I already have. I didn’t want something that matched perfectly, so I purposely looked for something that could/would stand on its own and complement what I already have. I spent about a week searching for the right piece, and I’m very happy with my purchase.When the bookcase arrived, I was impressed as soon as I opened the box. Everything was packed well, all the pieces were protected, and nothing was damaged or scratched. The hardware was organized, and it didn’t feel like one of those situations where you’re already frustrated before you even start.Assembly was pretty straightforward. My husband put it together in about 30 minutes. Now, I will admit that there were a few 4-and 5-letter words along the way, but I think that’s just part of putting furniture together. I don’t think anyone places “putting furniture together” at the top of their list of “fun things to do today”!! LOL!!Once it was set up, I was very happy with how it looked. The color is a bit darker than my desk and credenza, which is what I was going for — and it actually worked out even better than I expected! The other furniture is more of a greige color so the darker wood breaks things up and gives the room a little contrast. Also, the other furniture in the office is a higher end brand, but honestly, this piece holds its own — it doesn’t look out of place at all!! It really does look great!One other important thing worth noting — I found this same bookcase on Wayfair and Bed Bath & Beyond/Overstock, and at the time I bought it, Garvee’s price was more than $100 less. Just FYI.So, if you’re looking for something that looks great, holds a decent amount of books and other decor, and fits well into a finished space without spending a fortune, this is a solid choice. I’ll try to update with more photos once I finish the rest of the office/studio, but so far, I’m very happy with it.

Nice and sturdy, easy to put together too

Easy to assemble, looks like the more.expensive style. Shelves look a little faked. But ok.

This added a lot of organized storage in our open‑concept living space. Holds décor, books, and a few baskets for kids’ toys without looking messy.

I put this together solo in about 35 minutes with the included tools. Everything lined up well and the finished unit feels really solid.

The shelves handle stacks of LPs without bowing, which was my main concern. The mix of wood and metal gives a record‑store feel to our den.

There was a mild factory smell when we opened the box, but it faded in a day. Once assembled, it’s a great looking and very functional piece.

Works as a bookshelf and display rack next to our reading chair. The open sides keep it from feeling too bulky in a smaller downtown bedroom.

Easy to put together, sturdy, stable and look very nice. Advice when assembling--use a longer Allen wrench for those corners and be sure that you match the finials before attaching the top and bottom. We didn't notice the finials at first and had to take it apart again to make that correction.

We use the lower tiers for baskets with hats and mitts, and the upper for plants and photo frames. Looks organized instead of cluttered now.
